The village of Uluköy is situated 7.5 km from Tavakli village along the country road rather than the coast road. To reach it you would travel from Tavakli to Alemsah, from Alemsah to Akçakeçili and then the next stop is Ulukoy. It is 18 km from Ezine.
At first glance Uluköy looks and feels like one of the largest villages around. It has a busy high street, a bakery, more than one bakkal ( shop ) and several tea rooms. There is also a repair workshop for tractors and small trucks. There is also a Barber and the village has two mosques, a brand new health centre and petrol station.
Belen Village is just 4 km from Tavakli village. It has a population of around 200 and relies mainly on agriculture for income.
Behramkale Murat Hüdavendigar Köprüsü. This 600 year old stone bridge just 16km from Ayvacık and near Behramkale has recently been restored to its former glory. Spanning the Tuzla creek this 80 metre long bridge is 3.5 metres wide and would have been one of the main routes into the city.
Kayan village is the closest village to Tavakli, about 2km along a dirt road towards Camoba village, but you will take the first left along a track which will take you directly to Kayan. The village is mainly deserted with its old stone houses in ruins. It is a beautiful, natural and tranquil place in the pine forest at the base of Sakar mountain.
Çamoba village in the district of Ezine is a small village just 3 km from Tavaklı village and 4km from Kösedere village.
After you pass through the village of Uluköy and head on towards Tavaklı Köyü you will pass through Akçakeçili. You could be forgiven for thinking that this was a village with just a few houses but most of the homes are actually set back from the main road and out of sight until you park up and explore.
